The People's Hall opens its doors for a free Heritage Open Day weekend on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th September 2026
Located on Heathcoat Street, the Grade II listed building offers visitors a unique look into the building’s rich design and social history. Originally built in 1750 by Ann Morley, an influential local potter, the hall has played many roles over the last 270 years, serving as a grand private residence, a design school, a library, and a vibrant community centre.
Visitors of all ages can explore areas of the building usually closed to the public. Event highlights include:
Exclusive Guided Tours: Take a walk through history with guided access to the hall, including special access to the top floor.
Family-Friendly Activities: Keep younger explorers entertained with hands-on brick building, brass rubbing and a building-wide scavenger hunt, and many more.
Interactive History Displays: Discover the story of the hall, its unique architecture, and its place in Nottingham's heritage through brand-new interpretation boards.
Meet the Trust: Learn about the ongoing work of the Nottingham Historic Building Trust to rescue, restore, and repurpose local heritage sites for the community.
